Missing In Action...

Good grief, I have fallen way behind in my blogging and have so many things that I have wanted to post about....new reading material, new products for scrappers, new projects that I have finished, Christmas decorating, just sooooo much going on and to tell you about.  My friend Telah has done such a good job of updating her website and keeping it up to date and I honestly don't know how she has done it, plus she has found time to scrapbook.  Also, Leah has put a new banner on hers....and it  looks great!

I downloaded the newest version of Photoshop Elements and I am going to play with it a little bit and try it out before I make any purchases.  I played with it a little last night and made a new banner for the website.  What do you think?  It took a while to get the size right, but the actual making of it wasn't that hard....I had the picture saved on my hard drive and just added the text.

I also changed and added some new pictures to my slide show.  Now I have about 25 other new things to do on this site and update...LOL....plus we are going to decorate the Christmas tree tonight.

Parker has his six month well visit check up this afternoon and I can't wait to see what he weighs and how long he is.  That boy is big!  I took him to have his pictures made on Tuesday and I had to buy an 18 month outfit to fit him....and then it just barely fit!  I will update you all on the progress....it will be funny I am sure.

So be watching for santa pictures, new pictures of some of my creations, pictures of our Christmas tree decorating, my new finds....and much more.....I am making my New Year's resolutions now....I promise I AM going to do better and update this website more frequently now that we are all over the sickies and things seem to be getting back to normal.  I am off to catch up on my blog reading and commenting, take care of my precious kiddos, and get ready for our afternoon doctor's appt.

Have a great day!  More later....

MATHATHON 2006 - Mallory needs your help!

My sweet Mallory is participating in Mathathon again this year for school.  She did this last year and loved it!  Last year I mainly let her do it for the practice and her daddy and I were her main sponsors.  This year she is in first grade and really wants to participate again.  I thought this year I would solicit your help.  She got her DVD in her folder and is ready to complete her math problems on the computer.  The Mathathon will end on November 30th and she will need to have her money turned in by then to her classroom teacher.  If you are interested in sponsoring Mallory for her Mathathon participation this year...just email us and let us know and we will give you the details.  It is easy and a simple way to help support St. Jude and cancer research.  You can go to this link and find out more about St. Jude and about what you will be helping with if you decide to sponsor Mallory this year.

To give you some idea, Mallory will be completing 200-250 math problems.  You can sponsor 3, 4, 5 cents....or any amount per problem that you would like.  Your check is tax deductible if you decide to sponsor Mallory. Also, I am going to link it up so that you can visit the above link and sponsor her online with a debit or credit card.  She promises that she will work hard on her Mathathon and she is so excited to do this project this year....and I am so proud of her for wanting to do the extra work and help kids at St. Jude.

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for your help.  This is a worthy cause and a reputable program.  Mallory thanks you and I do too!

Have a good day!

UPDATE:  I went to www.mathathon.org and registered Mallory on the site.  When you go to this link you have to click on Mathathon Wired in the bottom right hand corner of the webpage and it will take you where you need to go.  I will gladly send you more info on what to do if you are interested and would like to sponsor Mallory.  Just email me!  Thanks!  Heather

Long time, no blogging!

I cannot believe that it has been nearly two weeks since I last blogged on this website.  Where has the time gone?  What have I been doing?  This month seems to have flown by...it is almost Turkey Day....WOW!!!  Before you know it, the Big guy himself will be coming down the chimney to visit and leave lots of toys for the good little boys and girls under the tree.

I have a lot to catch up on!  Or maybe I should say I have a lot to catch you up on....a lot to tell you about....so much so that I don't even know where to begin.

Right now is as good as any time.  It is almost 1am and I am sitting in my room here....on my new little gem that my sweet hubby got for me....well at least that is what I am being told :)....and it is quiet, peaceful, and relaxing.  I can think and can type a complete thought without a child breaking my train of thought....and boy does it seem strange.  I miss my kiddos....but I know they are in excellent hands and having a great time with their daddy!

I came up here for a weekend crop with some dear friends of mine and so far I have managed to accomplish a couple of small tasks off of my lists of things I wanted to get done this weekend.

Here are just a few of the things that I want to do this weekend to start getting back in the scrapping grove and get caught up...you all help me stay accountable and let's see how many of them I get done by Sunday evening when I get home!

  1. Complete two binders to use as art albums for my girls artwork from school and church....instead of housing it in a box in my closet
  2. Finish Christmas gifts for grandparents.
  3. Make a sizeable dent in the Karen Foster calendar I am working on for next year....hopefully at least get up to the middle of the year
  4. Finish a 4x6 album called Mama's brag book to carry in my bag to show off my kiddos when someone asks me if I have any recent pictures....which inevitably happens every time I run into someone that I haven't seen in a few months.
  5. Work on and complete LB album kits from the last TSV set offered here.  I have all the kits that have been mailed to me and unfortunately haven't been motivated nor had the chance to finish much of them.

So this is a good start....let's just see how much of it I get finished!  I am off to bed for now and get some much needed sleep!  My roomie for the weekend, Tandy,  is still scrapbooking and I am anxious to see how long she will last tonight.  But this old body is tired and I can't hold out any longer....so I will have to ask her in the morning.

Have a good day and I will post more tonight.....maybe even some pictures.....if I can borrow someone's camera.....I left mine at home!  Oh well!

Shout outs...

First and foremost, before I post anything else....I have two shout outs to give....one to my sister...Brittany....mainly because she asked me to...LOL....and secondly because I love her and thought it would be funny to do for her.  I know it won't embarrass her.

She is a ham and probably is loving the attention.

So here you go Britt!  Enjoy!

Second shout out goes to my little man!  Yes, I realize he can't read this.  However, today is celebrating a milestone!  Today he is 1/2 a year old....yes, you read that correctly....six months old already and I can't believe it!  It really doesn't seem like it has been that long since he was born, but I guess like in the last post....the days do just fly by.  It won't be long now til he is crawling and talking and walking.  I tried to feed him some sweet potatoes tonight with a spoon and it was sooooo funny!  I had forgotten how much babies like to spit food back at you!  Needless to say we need some practice in that area.  So we will keep working on it in the days to come!

As per usual during this time of year....the days are shorter and it seems like I have more and more to do....I have many things that I am trying to catch up on and this website is one of the things I need to work on.  Don't give up on me if it seems like I am not around much in the next few days....I just have been busy taking care of sick kids and with school projects and things like that....but I will be back full force soon.

Have a good evening!

Days fly by....

I think that is a title of a song I have heard on the radio before....but in any case....that is the title of this entry and the title of my life over the last little while.  Whew!  I can't believe that it is taking me so long to get back in the groove of things and that I have neglected posting for so long.  I know I have been busy...but I guess I just didn't realize how busy life has gotten.  Of course, and I know that you Mama's understand this, when you are a mama of three little ones, and your kids have the crud, and it is the week of a major holiday....you might just feel like you are hanging on by a thread!!!

Well, I don't know about anyone else...but we celebrated Halloween in more ways than one!  Mallory and Kennedy had a blast and I think will be talking about it for a long time!  They are amazed at how full their treat bags were when we got home from Trick-Or-Treating.  Of course Parker was oblivious to anything going on....he just basically rode around in his carseat and enjoyed the ride.

We started celebrating Halloween on Saturday evening by attending a great party at the home of some of our friends.  Thank you Kraig and Rita for inviting us and opening your home to everyone!  We all had a great time!  You put a lot of work into that party and it really paid off!  The kids all looked so incredibly cute and for the adults that dressed up....great job!!!!  Here are a few pictures from the festivities that night.  Kraig and Rita had pumpkin painting, storytelling, hayrides, a bonfire and roasted marshmallows (which by the way my girls absolutely loved and are still talking about),  and lots of great food!

The top picture is of my three little characters before we got ready to leave for the party.  Mallory dressed up as a tiger, Parker was a dragon, and Kennedy was a monarch butterfly.  Look at little Minnie Mouse!   Isn't she a total doll???

Dorothy, where is your little dog Toto??

Below:  I just love those sparkles on the sunglasses!  What a cute outfit?  And can you believe her daddy did her make-up for her costume?  Great job Dad!

And here is the whole crew...or at least the majority of it!

On Tuesday, I went to help out for a little while with Mallory's Halloween activities at school.  That was a lot of fun too!  Her teacher does an absolutely amazing job with the activities she plans for those kids!  They worked in stations and made different projects and read different books at each station.  They did really well with their projects and with recalling each story.   The teacher had stations for them to make owls, (Annie and Nile did an excellent job on their owls!!!)

to make a special snack mix...(which you can read about on Heather's recipe page), to make pumpkin collages,

and to make 3 dimensional pumpkins out of construction paper...each activity with a coordinating storybook!

One of the groups worked with Mrs. Rikki to make their special Halloween Treat Mix or owl eyes, chicken toenails, colored flies, ants, earthworms, witches fingers, snake eyes, and bat bones...yum yum(...you can find the real recipe for this under the recipe section of the webpage).  Mallory thought it was so cool and talked about all the gross things that were in the mix!!!  Of course, that afternoon they had a special snack of lots of good, sugary, Halloween treats before they came home!  What a fun day!!!

Now, couldn't tell about all our Halloween festivities without mentioning my little Kennedy.  She had dance class this week and got to wear her costume to dance.  However, her wings were getting in her way, so she opted to take them off during class.  All of the little girls looked so cute!!!  Here is a picture of the whole class dressed up in their costumes.  Don't they just look adorable???

Well, I think this about sums up all of our Halloween activities....I feel now like I have caught up a little bit from being gone so many days.  Since my little man has been sick and things have been so busy around here...he didn't get into the Trick-0r-Treating much....so let me leave you with a few more pictures including him and then of course a new topic and more later on...Have a great day!!!!
